Welcome!
If you are overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, stuck, unsure, in pain, in transition, or lost, I want to work with you.
I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can openly express your thoughts, emotions, and concerns. I believe in fostering a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust, respect, and empathy. Together, we will work towards uncovering the root causes of your challenges and develop practical strategies to enhance your overall well-being.
This is a welcoming, affirming space 🌈
Meet the therapist
Hi, I’m Kira (she/they).
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist. (LMFT). I’m also a geek, book lover, artist, former expatriate, and child of an immigrant.
My approach
My practice is trauma-informed. You may not identify as having experienced 'trauma' but that doesn't mean you can't benefit from this approach. When we work together we will identify the little things, those less severe or cumulative distressing experiences that may not have been life-threatening but can still have a significant impact on your development and well-being.
My background
I attended NYU for my undergraduate studies and earned my Bachelor's degree in Fine Art. It was during this time I realized my favorite part of the artistic process was creative problem solving. I decided to go back to school to learn the art of therapy. I graduated from National University in 2017 with my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
The majority of my professional experience has been in community mental health. I previously worked at Community Research Foundation (CRF), Union of Pan Asian Communities (UPAC), Rady Children’s Hospital, and Sharp Grossmont Hospital. I am an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™.
